Ok, Ok its not even 11PM local (Eastern time) but it is New Years eve. In a moment of reflection I'm mostly happy with the years events. I've moved, and adapted but with bented friendships; developed my site, and was forced to pay for it; I've become more orginized, but out of some nescitity; I've started planning my future, but not nearly enough. I have many thoughts going though my mind, but a good part is really dedicated to where we've come from and where we are going. My Great grandmother in about 2 and a half hours will be living over her 100th new years eve, and she has seen great advances in her life as well as great pitfalls. Looking forwards- hoping I'll be as lucky as she is I'll have to deal with a new war- possibly a renewd draft for armed services as I hit draft age in the following year. I'll have to live though more troubles restricting my rights to use the internet and media creation tools as enforced by the DMCA and congresses silly copyright laws.
As a mac user I feel excited as next week brings new promises and empty shells of the same with Steve Jobs keynote in San Fransisco, but may not attend a major mac expo as thier fates remain untold.
Yes the past holds many treasures but the true gems are in the lands of the future, 2003 will at the least be very interesting. Aside from this I leave no major or minor updates, photo uploads or fresh links just this message and a shift in my archives.

12-28-02 (mostly written on the 29th if anyone really cares)
I found it, I found my precious (yes the LOTR referance is very intentional). My Dremal is back as is my nasty soldering iron from hell (Ratty Shack- but it was my first) and a computer service kit with the torx-15 extender. I feel much better with them back. If I said they were burried in a 20x20 storage unit I would be dramaticaly underexagerating how much searching and digging I had to do to find them. Lets see this is late deccember- they were unpacked late october feel free to do your own math- its been a lifetime to a hardware hacker like myself. On another plus side I found a second wallstreet battery that if nothing else I can hack for the contacts on the wearable. I also got ahold of some schematics and have every intention of studying up on electronics again.
But to all great days are great let downs- I know my processor card is likly dead I found an overclocking site that delt with the wallstreet processors. Checking out the tables and my card it looks like I had a 66 bus card in an 83 bus motherboard. Poor neglected thing. I'll have to check over everything again but somehow I feel that I've lost.
Now enough ranting and more updating, added some links to my little addition to the weaving of the web, added an overlooked link in the wearable art section (if you want to call pictures of my head "art") , did a brief update to the wearable progress page. Lastly I'm thinking of some new updating scheme since I have the two main parts of my site- the wearable (and other major projects) and the main part I use to rant but I don't see it being implemented anytime soon if I do it will be in a sandbox.

Did some more research into the earlier wearable Macs, with some luck. I also sent off some emails hoping to get in contact with the creator. The one image I did find is now posted to in the wearable art section with a short write up. I also modified other pages to reflect the new information as well as a slight update to the project map. But for now its 2 AM and I need to get some sleep.

Fairly disappointing holiday season, few cans of Red Bull and 6 Cherry Dr. Enuf's. Then I get IOUs. I think some of my plans worked, the CD/MP3 player finaly conviced my dad that he needs to get a CD burner. He also says hes going to get a wireless router and cards for the family. Then they say that they wanted to give me a Sonnet upgrade, but wern't sure what one to get. Guess I can't blame them, I might even have to get a new video card (Radeon 7000 or Voodoo x500?) and some video games. Never though of the Phoenix as a decent gameing system but in a way it makes sence.
Other than this little rant I did do some code fixing in my archive to get ready for 2003, a simple divider for the years. Wish I had a project to work on, I'm bored out of my mind.

Just added nasty greyscale pictures of myself taken with a greyscale quickcam with an IR mod (that said you should expect very little after a vague outline), head over to the wearable mac section and then off to the pictures. I wish I had a nice digital camrea, but the shutter bug I am only wants a nice camera like the Sigma SD-9 with the new X3 based CCD (read: very high quality). Other than that I jsut added the HTML code to keep the photos from ruining the look of my wearable section.
Theres also added content in my interesting section, adding some autors and works that I've some how made the major error of not including earlier. Don't know if I'll do an update on the 25th, but we'll see, maybe on the 26th. Not that anyone checks here daily.

Birthdays come and go but holiday stress seems to last forever. My birthday was fairly uneventful, tests suck and there were very few gifts. Parents are willing to buy me a nice soldering iron as a late gift so I might have to watch for a nice Metcal or Weller.
I did some final shopping for gifts to give yesterday (even if I don't really celebrate Christmas. Its a nice thing to do I guess- that and practice for social engineering ;) ), it was a nice way to pass the time until my motherboard arrived. IOn the other hand I quickly realized that I needed the other revision motherboard created for Wallstreet laptops. I got a 66MHz bus one and not the 83 MHz bus board I should have bought. Oh well add a processor card to the list of wanted stuff. I think everything works tho'. Shame I don't have enough money left over to buy a 7200 upgrade :(
Went to see Two Towers, I liked it - some of the scenes were very well done. There was one charter that remined me of a CGI part from the second Harry Potter (I swear I was just taking my little brother) maybe there is something to selling template charters to movies. Well more later- I'm going to grap a DVD and put a couple more hours on my Canon Display

Too many tests, I've still got EOCs and exams for tommarow plus the ones I had today (Four bigs tests, and two on my birthday! :( ) In any case I've studied and will do how ever well I do, but wanted to make an update as the parts are starting to find thier way to me, RAM yesterday, AC adaptor today, MLB on my birthday? At least I get out early enough to beat the USPS guy to my house. Plus the LOTR Two Towers is out, should be a suitable break from the wearable mac. Still need to do some shoping, but with luck I should still be able to buy a nice Sonnet upgrade for the Phoenix if I don't recieve one. Maybe I'll hope for a soldering iron worth my ability (no Ratty Shack stuff should touch my prized toys) if I do I might have to place an order with digikey. Or 802.11b, wireless would be nice. Nothing major this update but I got the Canon GT-270 display today and are they nice. I messed with them for the better part of the afternoon (shouldn't have but see below), spenting time playing on an N64 (only FPS I had was goldeneye), watching TV, and testing some on my brothers wallstreet with S-video out. Under NTSC 800x600 resolution I could work OK, I'll have to up the font size some in application settings but that won't be too hard (in classic at least). Even things like iCab and BBEdit worked well though I couldn't launch iTunes visuals full screen or the Sims at all. I'll work on things like that when my system is up. In any case I'm eyeing a couple MLBs for a replacement in my Wallstreet, ones fairly high and ending tommarow (low chance of snipering it :( ) and the other ends Friday. Might be for the better. I'll have to study for some End of Course Tests for the next week and a half so don't expect a better update until the weekend at the soonest maybe not til the 20th. Display will be hard to resist but I think I'll manage- Optics fits into Physics at the moment and one of my classes IS on PC repair and technology...

Its coming, the wearable mac is coming. Today I won an auction for a pair of Canon GT-270 HMD's for a minute $202.61. I've also spoted a Duo AC adaptor for about $16. I may in fact have the first version completed by January 1st. Its a good thing, a really good thing. I'm also planing on buying some RAM shortly so the beast will carry 256 megs. I'll be updating the wearable mac pages in this upload, chaning some content and adding a specs page. Needless to say I'm in a really good mood, besides the fact that I'll have an extra 2 hours in the morning (delays are nice).

It snowed, it snowed alot. And I'm out of school from Wendnesday morning to at the soonest Friday morning (and the way these people react I should be good until Monday). Funny thing is when they let me go from school there wasn't a bit of snow to be seen, not that I'm complaining. Still we've got a decent accumulation with the chance of ice and freezing rain to come.
In any case I did some more HTML for the page, adding more to the Wearable Mac pages. A friend is also going to send me some donor parts for the ACK 2.0, when I get them I'll add his name to the donation list on the wearable pages. I also fought with my scanner to scan some images of what happens when I don't have anything to do and a large box of unused and mostly unwanted floppy disks miht upload some images I took a few weeks ago when the leaves were turning. We'll see, I've got tommarow to fight with the scanner.
I've also been playing with a greyscale quickcam (I swear I wasn't taking anymore bad hack photos with it) making it a little more sencitive to IR light. Now if I could go ahead and make those purchases from Shreve Systems and those electronics distrubiters...

December and I'm still wearing t-shirts, jeans, and sandels. I'm really liking this NC weather. In any case I moved November updates over to the Archives. Also had a minor change in plans on the wearable mac purchaces, I lost the auction for the display that was supposed to end on the third (Buy it now is both a blessing and a curse) so I'm eyeing a new set ending in a week or so from now (and its not Buy it Now). I also need to place an order from Shreve Systems before I forget about it. Wanted to do this short update, but I need to get some sleep (and find some electronics parts), got to go back to school tommarow. :(

More wearable mac stuff, mainly a project plan (kinda). Hopefuly I'll be buying a key part- an HMD- by December 4th. I also fixed some code on a couple pages. Further I'm planning another project, a 5x0 battery recelling project, now that I figured out how to open them up, need my tools to continue the project, as the electronics are soldered to the batteries preventing me from getting a measurement to place an order for new cells. Other than that I hope those of you who celebrate it had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was a little quite due to the move, but 4 days off of school and some food is going to stop me from complaining.

PC stuff is proving very useful, got some more video cards (up to 5 or so yet to see if they will drive a monitor tho') and hard drives, now I have 4 2 gig 1/3 inch height drives, a 1 gig 1/3 height SCSI drive as well as a CD drive and a Tape back up drive. Life is good. I also added a new link to another Powerbook 150 hacker- they now work with CF cards. Life is better. I also added another one of my favorite book series to my interesting page as it got a book and movie contract longer last week (plus I learned the author is a city away). Life is really good. Also fixed a couple items at various places.

Added a concept and some information into the Wearable Mac FAQ. Updated the Phoenix page to reflect a 2 gig fast scsi hard drive I added in 5 minutes ago. I had a good day since one of my teachers had an old system she let me part out, included a SCSI HD, fast SCSI-2 PCI card and a Mac Compatible Video Card (I tested it). Now what system to put the new card into...

Started a wearable mac section, mainly an FAQ and and main page for all the wearable stuff I plan to add to the site as well as made additions to the links, navigation bar, and hacks pages. Updates to the .mac account might be a little behind as I'm serving webpages off my main system, once I get a router I plan on miroring the .mac account on a spare system where you can view the most recent version of the site. I'll make the new pages look better in a while but its mosly content right now.
I also added a search feature to the site from Pico Search, I would have used google but they didn't want to work beyond the homepage.mac.com part of my URL. It should work in any case.

Another week another wad of cash for the wearable mac, hope to code up a page for that soon. I've also been playing with some scvhematic software for the classic Mac OS. Mainly its an 8 cell LED driving curcuit that hopefuly will turn out like a Matrix scene. If it works I plan on implanting it into a Mac behind 1's and 0's flashing some binary message. We'll see about that, I still ned to one find the values for it and make it. The other big thing is a friend of mine has a copy of 10.1 being shipped to me so I'll finaly play with X. Finaly I should be buying a router tommarow, and with luck that will enable me to enter into 802.11 bliss, combine these togather and I've got a cure for upgrade-itis.

Over two months, sorry about the lack of major updates I've had DSL (its a blessing after 56k) for a month and a half now but only got my good systems last weekend. I've been making minor revisions when I could, mostly in code and adding a small counter a couple weeks ago. As you can tell I am now a member of .Mac but I don't know if I'll keep it when it come towards expiring- a number of google hits convinced me to register. On the hacking frount I've been working on the funds for the wearable mac and might have something by the end of the year- I should get something for the site this weekend detailing it more. The TiNewt might get some progress as well if I can get my tools.

Fixed up some code on the hack index, as well as adding a page for the miniMac (Greyscale photos) I moved over the July updates to the archives. I'm also moving tommarow to Mount Airy, NC so don't expect updates for a while. I'm also going to move to a new hosting service since Apples former iTools is no longer, and I am technicaly hosting this off a trial version of the new .Mac services. Now what mac to use as a server on my upcoming broadband connection...

I've made several modifications and updates to the hacks index page including an update on the miniMac and the TiNewt and alt tags on images on the page. More content, background and color scheme added to the newton page. I also added a tid bit about my upcomming move to Mount Airy, North Carolina (Mayberry might ring a bell if you like the Andy Griffin Show) to my Who Is g3head page. More reading added to the interesting reading page. Soon to come- project documentation on the wearable mac and the TiNewt projects.

I'm working on making the site compatible with lower resolution screens (640x480) so I'm on Mach 2. The decesion to move is coming up soon, so if you care watch the site. I'm also going to add some content on the newton page though tweking it make wait until I get access to photoshop.

I'm back from what can only loosly be called a vacation, and upon doing so made a trade for Blackbird Mach 2 with a PPC upgrade (see systems for details) Because of this trade I'm updating the site as well as adding a new Newton page since I'm begining to have a decent collection. I'm also adding links to the 68kMLA and a beautiful Software app called mpegdec that will play MP3s on your favorite color capable mac. Removed most updates from this page and moved them to the update archive

Updated the pages on the Phoenix, added a new section to the Hacks index- Hacks by others- as well as a few ideas that should be coming soon. I also upgraded the status of the MiniMac hack. I also added the Specs on a New Newton 120 I'm getting to the systems page, though I'm also expecting some more toys over the 4th of July weekend (I made a deal for a PPC upgraded 540c)

Created new background for this page (doing duble duty on the systems page) hoping for a decent brushed metal look and changed hex color code to match Fixed link colors on links page. I also made up new images for this page and the systems page to match the new color and background. I added various quotes. Created another image for the quotes page. Increased font sizes on some of "the harder to read pages"*

*According to me probaly using iCab 2.8, but all browsers are different hence I try to use font size +/- tags so you can easily change font sizes. Isn't compliant HTML nice?
