By default a new Newton Works document of type Paper will be created without the ruler. Certainly each of you will work with ruler and so you must activate the ruler byself. This is what Works Auto-Ruler is for. If it is installed then a new Newton Works document of type Paper will be created with the ruler on automatically.
Please make a backup first. It's always a good idea to backup your device before you install a new program. Even if we have tested all of our programs very intense, because of the variety of existing programs and system configurations no one can guarantee that no problem will occur.
Transfer the worksruler.pkg file to your Newton OS device by using an appropriate package installation program, like NBU, NCU or the Newton Package Installer. After installing you will find Works Auto-Ruler in the Extras, folder Extensions.
Without Works Auto-Ruler Newton Works documents of type Paper are created without ruler. So you have to activate the ruler manually:

Works Auto-Ruler modifies the built-in Newton Works program and so it has no user interface byself. If you will restore the original behaviour of Newton Works then simply remove the extension.
