SilverWARE Announces PowerNames 2.0,
Lightning fast access to your frequently used names.

Haverhill, Mass. - SilverWARE Computer Software announced today its enhancement to its popular Name File utility for the Newton. PowerNames makes navigation between names lightning fast by allowing users to jump instantly to their frequently used names. It is no longer necessary to go hunting for a name. With this clever utility, users can simply tap on a name from a popup list and have it instantly displayed. Names can also be made "power" names and remain permanently in the list.

Unique to PowerNames is its seamless integration of its features with the built-in Name File. PowerNames extends the use of the Name File's Show button by allowing users to include frequently used names in its popup list. Once a name is chosen from the popup list, the name is instantly displayed.
PowerNames also extends the A-Z tabs found at the top of the Name File. Tapping on a tab can now display a popup list of recent names and/or permanent names starting with the letters of that tab. For instance, tapping the AB tab will include all of those recent/permanent names starting with the letter A and B.

PowerNames extends the Names button as well and allows the addition of a button in the backdrop application's status bar, both of which are completely user configurable. Users can also distinguish between tapping on the Names button and the text below the Names button. By default, tapping on the text below the Names button displays a Find window which allows users to enter a portion of a name. PowerNames then lists all of those names matching the text. Tapping on any name in the list immediately displays the selected name.

PowerNames is extremely customizable, allowing the user to turn on and off each feature individually. All of the buttons enhanced by PowerNames can now have two distinct characteristics, one when a button is simply tapped and another one when a button is held down momentarily.

PowerNames also is designed to integrate with its companion product MoreInfo. From within MoreInfo's slips, users can choose from a popup list of recently used names with whom to schedule. In addition, names with whom meetings, events and To Dos are scheduled using MoreInfo are added to PowerNames' list of recent names. These integration features will be available in MoreInfo 3.03 due out later this month.

Pricing & Availability

PowerNames is scheduled to ship March 22, 1996 and will retail for $34.95 plus shipping and handling. A fully functional unlockable demo will be available shortly after the product ships. This demo will allow users to use the product for a period of two weeks. A short textual tutorial will be included with the demo illustrating PowerNames' key features. Registered PowerNames users can easily upgrade for $10.
