About Storing protoTXView Documents
You can store *protoTXView
word-processing documents in RAM-based soup objects, or you can store a word-processing document as a virtual binary object (VBO). The VBO is a "black-box" representation of the data in your view. You can perform a limited set of operations on these objects, as follows:
- You can use the *
protoTXView:*Externalize
method to save the contents of a word-processing view to a VBO.- You can use the *
protoTXView:*Internalize
method to replace the contents of a word-processing view with the data stored in a VBO that was previously stored with a call to *protoTXView:*Externalize
.- You can call protoTXView:IsModified to determine if your view has changed since the most recent call to *
protoTXView:*Internalize
or*protoTXView:*Externalize
.- You can use
protoTXViewFinder
methods to search for text in a VBO without creating a word-processing view.
