The first section is called Product Location & Identification. This section should be relatively obvious.
The Store popup lets you select an already existing store, or create one, using the option Edit Stores.... If you select a store, all sections that were created for that store will be available in the Section popup. You still need to manually select the section where this product can be found. If you select Edit Stores..., you're presented with the following dialog:
Usually, the store selected for the edited product will already be there, ready for modifications. The Edit me popup lets you select which store you want to edit.
Picking a store from this popup will let you edit it. The Remove button will let you remove a store. Once you did modify the name of a store, you need to tap the Modify button. Failing to do so will not save any modification to a store name, even if you tap Save. Also, after modifying the name of a store, you will notice that the label of the Remove button will appropriately change to Add, since the new name isn't in the store list. To add it to the list, tap Add. Obviously, Save will let you save all the changes you did to all the stores. Tapping Cancel or Save will close the dialog and bring you back to the detailed view of the item.
The section popup will let you pick the area in the store where the current item can be found. You can also edit the sections in the same way than for the stores. At the end of the Section popup is an option labeled Edit Sections.... When you select this option, the following dialog will appear:
Like for the Stores editor, you have an Edit me popup to select the section to modify. If you modify the section currently displayed, the Remove button changes for a Add button. After editing, you then have the ability to add this new section, or modify it using the Modify button. The difference with the Sections editor from the other editors is that you have this number picker called Store occurence. The store occurence lets you select where, in the store, relatively to other sections, is the current edited section. You could call it its order in the store, or its rank. It is this value that is used whenever you sort your list of items using the section. Tapping the upper or lower part of the 2 digits will let you increase or decrease the value. Once you did modify this value, don't forget to validate it by tapping Modify. You can then tap Save.
The aisle popup lets you pick the numeric aisle in the section where the current edited item can be found. Like for the section, the aisle value is used when performing a sort that include the aisle. For instance, a regular grocery section, where all the canned foods are, can have multiple aisles. Like for the stores and sections, you will have an option at the end of the popup to edit the aisle. The editor works like the Stores editor. It's actually the very same editor that is re-used. All aisle are available to all items.
The aisle occurence is yet another numeric value that is used to position or locate the item within the aisle. With the store occurence, the aisle and the aisle occurence, you can sort the items quite accurately to the layout of the store. That is one of the strenght of NewtGrocery to let you sort the items exactly in the same order that you will find them in the store.
The Product is where you identify the item. The product should be a description that excludes the brand or the format, since those attributes have specific fields to store them.
The Brand popup is used to help you uniquely identify the item. Like the stores and the aisles, you can edit the brands that are stored in the popup. All brands are available to all items.
