Eye in the Sky

Aerial Photography on a Shoestring

These photographs were taken with a disposable camera, which I bought from K-Mart, strapped to the wing of my electric glider (the camera, that is, not me). My club, the Sydney Model Aero Club, or S.M.A.C flies at the ANZAC rifle range at Malabar near one of Sydney's southern beaches.

This image shows the cliffs at the northern end of the runway. This rugged landscape has claimed more than its fair share of model planes. If you are lucky you will end up in one of the bushes, if not... There are still some planes out there waiting for the war to end.

This is a nice picture of the southern end of Maroubra Beach. I pulled the glider into a stall to get the angle. Unfortunately it was a little too cold for topless bathers on that day.
