Aloha version 2.7
Aloha has had a long life and I have had a lot of fun supporting it, but due to continuous changes by the AOL host I have decided to stop supporting Aloha.
Send and receive important email anytime and anywhere through your Newton PDA and America Online, one of the most popular online services.
** Aloha will still work for some people, but it might not work for everyone. ** AOL dropped support for older versions of their desktop clients - including the version that previous versions of Aloha emulated. Aloha is now emulating the 2.7 version of the desktop AOL software which AOL still supports. If you have a version of Aloha prior to 2.7 then you must upgrade to check your AOL email with your Newton. ** AOL hasn't set a date to phase out 2.7 yet, but hopefully it will be some months away still. ****** I'm assuming that AOL has now dropped support for 2.7 of AOL and doubt Aloha still works for anyone. You are welcome to download it and test it, but do not buy Aloha until you verify that it works for you. ******
"I chose AOL because it is the most popular online service. I chose a Newton PDA because it gives portability that notebook computers can't even match. And, I chose Aloha because it allows my Newton PDA to send and receive email with my existing AOL accounts." said Gary Greco of president of PowerMedia, Inc. "Whether I'm at the park connecting with my cellular phone or if I'm in Hong Kong on business travel Aloha keeps me connected to my email."
