SysBeep by DMP Systems ---------------------- SysBeep is a small program to give you a different beep sound. Just run it once after installing (or reseting) to activate the new sound. Now, when you get an alert, you will hear "Uh Oh", instead of the alarm sound that you selected in the Preferences Section. To cancel this new beep sound, you need to remove the package or reset your machine. If you install it in internal memory (it's only 11k), it won't holler at you when you remove a card. Why a new beep sound ? Just because I got bored with the current sounds, I wrote a program to be able to use any sound that I had on my mac. Also, people seem to think more of a computer that talks rather than just a silly beep. I complied it into the program with the Apple Newton Toolkit. Look for the source code in the NEWTDEV section of CIS. This program has been tested on an original Newton with OS 1.05 .
