Candy-Apple

One of many random painted macs I have done...

This one began it's life as a base 7300/180 with 64MB of ram that I got for $15 on e-bay. I overclocked the proc card to 225MHz (which they are very stable at), threw in a 2GB SCSI HD I had laying around, a $4 2 port USB card, and it needed more, so I started painting...

I saw that Mercury SE here and liked the idea of the transparent red paint for the keyboard. That stuff is fun. I also used it for the control area of the (non-working but easy to fix or use the plastics on a working one) apple 14" monitor. I masked over all the apple logos to keep them nice and clean, and I decided to use 3 different shades of red paint to add some flair. I had some issues trying to paint the cables so I decided to just remove the paint and leave them beige... oh well.

Overall, it is a very pretty paint job... just what some old useful macs need to feel young and vibrant. ;-)
