Card Eject

Overview

This application will prepare storage cards for removing. Surely many of you have seen the message to re-insert the card while removing a storage card. By the use of Card Eject you can avoid this problem.

Installation

Please make a backup first. It's always a good idea to backup your device before you install a new program. Even if we have tested all of our programs very intense, because of the variety of existing programs and system configurations no one can guarantee that no problem will occur.

Transfer the CardEject.pkg file to your Newton OS device by using an appropriate package installation program, like NBU, NCU or the Newton Package Installer.

Be carefull that you install Card Eject into the internal store. Certainly you can imagine the confusion if you try to eject the storage card with Card Eject on it. Because of that we have arranged the program so you can use it only while it is filed on the internal store.

Operation

In the extras drawer please tap on the icon of Card Eject.

Depending on the number of inserted cards you will see a different screen. In the example above there are two cards inserted, one named "Sicherung" and another one which is simply named "Karte". On a MP 2x00 the Slot 2 is the upper right one and Slot 1 is the lower right one while you are holding the device in the normal orientation. Of course on a MP 120/130 there is one slot only - we can't work miracles :-)

To eject a card simply tap the button 'Eject' for the appropriate storage card. Depending on the number of programs on the storage card you will see a 'Please Wait...' message. Afterwards you can remove the storage card. Alternatively you can reactivate the card. This will bring you to the state which you have had directly after inserting the storage card.
