PowerFreeze lets you create your own package-freezing setups.So you can build for example

a setup especialy for internet-access or whatever you want. 

What's the reason for using PowerFreeze? 

- 	Every activated package needs some useful heap-space. The more package you have

	installed on your Newton, the less the free heap-space is! Know you have two

	possibilities to solve this kind of problem. First, you freeze the unused packages

	manually (that's really hard work, because you have to do it everytime) or you

	use PowerFreeze and define some setups. Every time you want to activate a special

	setup, start PowerFreeze, select your setup and activate it. That's all!

	

>PowerFreeze ermoeglicht Ihnen eigene Package-Freezing setups zu erstellen. So koennen

>Sie zum Beispiel ein Setup fuer den Internet-Access oder was immer Sie auch moegen erstellen.

>Warum PowerFreeze benuetzen?

>-	Jedes aktivierte Package auf dem Newton belegt Heap-Speicher. Je mehr Packages Sie

>	auf Ihrem Newton installiert haben, umso kleiner wird der freie Heap-Speicher!

	Um dieses Problem zu umgehen, haben Sie zwei Moeglichkeiten. Erstens, Sie freezen

	nicht benoetigte Packages einzeln und manuell (ist recht muehsam und aufwendig), 

	oder aber Sie brauchen PowerFreeze und definieren sich einige Setups. Jedesmal,

	wenn Sie einen Setup aktivieren wollen, starten Sie PowerFreeze, selektieren Ihren

	vordefinierten Setup und aktivieren ihn. Das wars...







Description of elements :



	- 	"i" Info-Button about PowerFreeze, where you find the help (Help), and where

		you can registrate PowerFreeze (About)

		

	-	"Setup" Inputfield for setup-name 

	

	_	"Action" popup-button:

		"Save setup"	Saves the setup with the name entered in the Setup-Inputfield

						and adds an element above the pickseperator line in the

						action  popup-button. If no name is present in the 

						Setup-Inputfield, no action is performed.

		"Delete setup"	Removes the setup with the name entered in the Setup-Inputfield

						from the "Action" popup-button. To delete a setup, pick it in

						the "Action" popup-button list (name is set in "Setup" inputfield) 

						and select "delete setup".

		"Activate setup" activate the checked packages in the text List. The unchecked

						packages will be frozen!

		"Select all"	select all packages in the text List

		"Unselect all"	unselect all packages in the text List

		

		By choosing a setup from the action popup-button, the packages in the

		list have the state as you defined it when you created it.

		(activated = checked = thawed, deactivated = unchecked = frozen).

		A setup (state of packages in the text list) is getting active, only

		after the "Activate setup" action has been performed.

>	-	"Setup" Eingabefeld fuer setup-name



>	-	"Action" popup-Knopf:

>		"Save setup"	sichert den Setup unter dem, beim Setup-Eingabefeld eingegebenen

>						Namen und erweitert die popup-Liste des Action Poup-Knopfs mit

>						dem Setup (oberhalb der seperator-Linie). Wenn kein Name

>						im Setup-Eingabefeld vorhanden ist, wird keine Aktion 

>						ausgefuehrt.

>		"Delete setup"	Entfernt den Setup mit dem, im Setup-Einfabefeld enthaltenen Namen

>						aus der Liste des Action Popup-Knopfes. Um am einfachsten 

>						ein Setup aus der Action Popup-Knopf Liste zu entfernen, waehlen

>						Sie den Setup aus der Popup-Liste aus (der Name wird automatisch

>						in das Setup-Eingabefeld eingetragen) und waehlen dann 

>						"Delete setup".

>		"Activate setup" aktiviert sÉmtliche Packages, die in der Text-Liste selektiert

>						sind und friert (freeze) alle nicht selektierten Packages ein.

>		"Select all"	Alle Packages in Liste selektieren

>		"Unselect all"	Alle Packages in Liste nicht selektieren

>		

>		Wenn Sie einen Setup aus der action Popup-Liste auswaehlen, werden die Packages in

>		der Text Liste selektiert oder nicht selektiert, je nachdem wie der Setup definiert

>		wurde (activiert = selektiert = aufgetaut, deaktiviert = nicht selektiert = 

>		gefroren (freeze). Ein Setup (Zustand der Packages in der Text Liste) wird

>		erst aktiv, nachdem "Activate setup" ausgefuehrt wurde.

- > Neu mit Startup-Manager. Beim Einschalten des Newtons wird ein Fenster

	angezeigt, in dem ein mit PowerFreeze erstelltes Setup ausgewÉhlt und

	aktiviert werden kann. Fuer PowerNavigator Benutzer ist dieser Startup

	Manager auch direkt aufrufbar insofern PowerFreeze installiert ist

	(ab PowerNavigator Version 2.3).

	

	New with built-in startup-manager. On power-on of the newton, the startup-

	manager is getting visible. In this window you can directly select and 

	activate a setup which was created with powerFreeze. If you are a

	powerNavigator user, there is a new built-in function where you can also

	directly select the startup-manager to have fast access to your powerfreeze

	setup's (powerNavigator version 2.3).

- > Neu mit Action-Funktions Thaw-Pakcages und Freeze-Packages. Beim ausfÄhren

	dieser neuen Funktionen werden nur die selektierten Packages entweder 

	eingefroren oder aktiviert. Alle nicht selektierten Packages des Setups

	werden belasse wie sie sind. Bei Activate-Setup gilt immer noch, dass

	die selektierten Packages aktiviert werden und die nicht selektierten 

	deaktiviert werden. Die neuen Funktionen kûnnen auch via SetupManager 

	aufgerufen werden (ebenso im PowerNavigator ab Version 2.4)



	New action functions "Thaw-packages" and "Freeze-packages". This two functions

	only take actions on the selected packages of a setup. The deselected 

	packages of a setup do not get changed in their activation state. The 

	function "Activate-setup" has the same action as before. It thaws the

	selected packages of a setup and freeze the deselected packages. The

	new functions can also be accessed with the setupManager (the same

	for PowerNavigator release 2.4)
