You can do this using the Newton Connection Utility (for Mac or Windows), the Newton Package Downloader, or the Newton Backup Utility. See the documentaion with each of these for more information on installing packages with them. * Using Freeze Utilities --------------------------------------------------------------------- Freeze Utilities adds an item to your preferences which allows you to configure your Newton's Freezing options. The first checkbox ("Allow Package Freezing") turns on and off the ability to freeze icons directly in the Extras Drawer. If it is checked, then after selecting an item in the Extras Drawer, you can tap on the action button (the small envelope) and popup the action menu. To freeze a package, simply select Freeze from the menu. If you have the "Keep package icons when freezing" option checked in the Freeze Utilities prefs, then Frozen packages will be indicated by grayed-out icons with a small snowflake. If this option is not checked, then all frozen packages will have a large snowflake as the icon. Normally when you tap on a frozen package,. the system will thaw it. However, if you select "Launch frozen packages when tapped", then packages will first be thawed, and then launched. In addition, if you check the "Refreeze packages after quitting" box, then after you quit the application, the system will automatically refreeze if for you. Freeze Utils also adds two additional options to the Action button in the Extras Drawer. These are: Thaw This will un-freeze (or Thaw) any selected icons, without launching them. Package Info This will bring up a screen with information about a single selected icon. * Registering Freeze Utilities --------------------------------------------------------------------- Freeze Utilities is free!
