WHAT IT IS CLex is a multilingual dictionary engine. Notably it supports Chinese/Japanese and other script systems. There is a built-in memo so that you can put a new word in the memo for your later peruse. You can also look up a word online by selecting the word or simply place the cursor under the word you want to look up. A TapBar button is also included so that you can have access to CLex almost everywhere at any time. WHAT YOU NEED A Newton with NOS2.0 or further. At least a set of Japanese/Chinese font in unicode format if you want to use Japanese or Chinese dictionary (You can find one on my homepage -- Freeware.) The dictionary data can be found in Info-Mac and on my homepage. To use the TapBar button, you have to get Yosuke "Basuke" Suzuki's TapBar Program from his homepage. TapBar is freeware. e-mail:suzuki@voyagerco.com http://www.saryo.org/basuke HOW TO USE Follow the usual installation procedure to install CLex (the dictionary engine) and CLexTB (TapBar button -- optional). If you have TapBar installed, you can add the CLexTB to your any of your control bar using 'TapBar Setup.' You will have to have AT LEAST a dictionary data installed. (Otherwise it doesn't make any sense to use the CLex engine, right? ;-) ) To invoke CLex, just tap on 'CLex' in your Extras or tap on CLexTB button. Please refer to the following figure for further explanation. Ê The TapBar button is a miniature of the 'lookup at cursor' key. The function is the same as the "magnifying glass" key in CLex engine. By holding on the TapBar button more than 1.5 sec, CLex will be opened instead and no lookup will be carried out. If you have more than one dictionary installed, you have the chance to choose the proper one before you look up the word. SHAREWARE This software is SHAREWARE.
