Installation Note
===========

You can install either the QuickFigure 4.0.pkg file (the main QuickFigure Pro
application) or the QF 3.1 Stationery.pkg file (the QuickFigure Stationery application).  Either or both may be installed at one time.

We recommend strongly that the QF 3.1 Stationery.pkg be installed in internal memory.


What to Install
===============

The basic functionality of QuickFigure Pro is included in the "QuickFigure 4.0.pkg" package. If you wish to add connectivity to the desktop, you should install the "QF Exchange 4.0.pkg" package.

The packages in the "Tools" directory add additional functionality to QuickFigure. However, you do not need to install them unless you wish to use that functionality. They will appear in the Extensions folder of your Extras drawer, and are accessible through the Tools menu in QuickFigure Pro.


Installing QuickFigure Exchange on your Macintosh
=============================================

To install QuickFigure Exchange on your Macintosh, double-click on the "QFX Installer" application, located in the "Macintosh" folder, which is in the "QuickFigure Exchange" folder.

The QFX Installer is an Excel document, and it will launch Excel and begin the installation process.  You should also make sure that your Extensions folder (located in the System Folder of your Macintosh) contains the files "Apple Modem Tool" and "AppleTalk ADSP Tool." If these files are not present, they are included with the QFX Installer, in a folder called "Put in System Folder."

Compatibility Notes
==============

1. We have tested QF Pro 4.0 under Newton 2.0 on a MessagePad 120, 130, and 2000 devices, and eMate 300 devices. QuickFigure Pro 3.1 will run only on Newton 2.0 or greater. 


2. Using worksheets from previous versions of QuickFigure: 

	QuickFigure Pro 2.1 or earlier, QuickFigure Lite: QF 4.0 cannot use these
worksheets unless they have been converted to QuickFigure 2.5 or 3.x format. The
QuickFigure 2.1 Converter should be included with this package (in the 'tools' folder).

	QuickFigure Pro 2.5 or 3.x:  QF Pro 4.0 will read QF 2.5 or 3.x worksheets without any conversion. However, if you modify a worksheet in QF 4.0 and then try to reopen it with QF 2.5, it will have some display problems.

3. Beaming and mailing to/from previous versions of QuickFigure: You can beam a QuickFigure Pro 3.x worksheet to Newton devices running QuickFigure Pro 4.0. However, you cannot beam a QuickFigure Pro 4.0 worksheet to Newton devices running QuickFigure Pro 3.0.

You cannot beam any worksheets to or from QuickFigure Pro 2.5.

4. Using Worksheets from QuickFigure Works: QuickFigure Pro 4.0 cannot exchange worksheets with QuickFigure Works. However, we do provide a tool which allows you to copy worksheets between
QuickFigure Pro 3.1 and QuickFigure Works, and this tool should work with QF Pro 4.0 as well.

5. QuickFigure Exchange requires Microsoft Excel 5.0 or subsequent (we recommend that you use the most recent version of Excel available).

6. Most QuickFigure Tools are *not* compatible with QuickFigure Stationery. They will not appear on QF Stationery's Tools menu.

Known Discrepancies
===================

1. Find doesnÍt search worksheet titles, only contents.

2. Find does not search inside of QF Stationery worksheets, unless the QuickFigure 4.0 package is installed.

3. When removing the QF Stationery application, either close the Notes
application, or make sure it is in Overview. Otherwise, you may have to reset your Newton after removing the package.

Note for non-US users: When your Newton is set to use a locale where the decimal place is a comma ( , ), QuickFigure Pro expects you to use a semicolon ( ; ) to separate arguments in formulas. For instance:

= NPV(A1:A5; 0,05)
