New Features in QuickFigure Exchange
===================================

1. Support for transferring workbooks. (See Compatability notes below.)

2. Support for transferring row height and cell-border information.

3. Improved connection behavior.


Installing QuickFigure Exchange 4.0
===============

If you have have an older version of QuickFigure Exchange installed on your Newton, you will need to locate it In the extensions folder of your Extras Drawer, and erase it. This file, should it exist, will be called  'qfexch:donv'. (If the file, 'qfexch23:donv' is installed, you may elect to keep this installed, as it can co-exist with the new QuickFigure Exchange file.)

Install the 'qfex4f1.pkg' file located in the 'Newton' folder to your Newton. 

If you are using a Mac, open the 'Mac' folder inside the 'QFEx4' folder, and double-click the file called 'Installer'. This will install the new desktop Exchange client to Excel, and erase the old client.

If you are using a Windows machine, open the 'Windows' folder inside the 'QFEx4' folder, and double-click the file called 'Install.xla'. This will register the new desktop Exchange client to Excel, and erase the old client.


Using QuickFigure Exchange 4.0
==============

To access QuickFigure Exchange in Excel, click on the QuickFigure menu item on Excel's menu bar.

To access QuickFigure Exchange in QuickFigure Pro, tap on the Tools icon in QFPro, and choose "QF Exchange" from the pop-up.
 
Both the Excel QF Exchange client and the QFPro QF Exchange client are capable of Sending and Receiving Workbooks or Worksheets.  Simply select either 'Send Workbook' or 'Send Worksheet' using one client, and 'Receive Workbook' or 'Receive Worksheet' with the other client.

Whenever a Workbook is received, a fresh Workbook is created by the receiving client.


Compatibility Notes
==============

1. QuickFigure Exchange has been tested using Excel95 and Excel97 for Windows, and Excel5 and Excel98 for Mac.

2. Excel5 (or previous) for Windows is not supported in this release of QuickFigure Exchange.

3. Excel4 (or previous) for Mac is not supported in this release of QuickFigure Exchange.

4. Workbook transfers are not supported in Excel95 (or previous) for Windows or Excel5 (or previous) for Mac.
