That is, I would like to put in the card without attaching it to my mobile phone. I picture the card as something with an antenna on it. The card should allow me to dial in to my ISP and retrieve my mail without attaching the Newton to a mobile phone. While the whole thing is very light, in every day use the headset isnt that fun to use and transport. 2nd problem its a GSM 900 card, so it will not work with other GSM "standards" I myself would not buy it before they had proven that the drivers works flawless now for e-mail, fax, SMS. If so could I get your > input? Guess you're talking about the DRAM upgrade that turn a 2000 into a 2100, if you've got the money, don't hesitate. It will make your Newton experience a lot better (no heap, same as RAM in a desktop, problems anymore) and with the software solutions around for the -61001 error (was that the right number, don't feel like looking it up right now) that can turn up after the upgrade, you won't run into any problems really. BTW if you're in the US you would get the upgrade at Dr. Newton: http://www.govmail.com/newton/doctor/ If you're in Europe it would be www.pixsolution .com and I think there was somebody in Asia as well, I'll check on the URL if anybody needs it. Let them post... it's humorous to me! - ------ There's a lot of truth to this statement. One of the reasons I enjoy testing other PDAs is because it helps me appreciate the Newton even more (and helps keep the urge to buy something new under control). For example, I had heard so much about the Palm as an alternative to the Newton, but it wasn't until I actually used one for several weeks that I realized that the Palm offered only a small subset of the Newton's capabilities. Now I can only laugh when people write that they've "upgraded" to a Palm from a Newton. This is like saying they're "upgrading" from a Mercedes to a Ford Pinto. As someone said, the Newton's a real computer: the Palm's a nifty organizer - big difference! At some point I hope to be reporting to NewtonTalkers on the soon-to-be released Psion series 5mx -this looks like it will be a really nice machine. But, until you hold one in your hand and put it through its paces, you just never know.
