SCROLLEX 3.2 INSTALLATION

THE INSTALLATION OF ScrollEx NEEDS SOME ATTENTION !



If it's your first installation go on step 4.

If you update from version 3.1 or later you need only steps 1), 2), 5) and 8)



1) Get your ScrollEx registration keyCode from prefs.

2) Remove your current ScrollEx version.

3) Reset your Newton.

4) Install FIRST the ScrollEx Preferences (into internal memory or on card).

5) Install ScrollEx into INTERNAL memory.

6) Set your ScrollEx registration key into prefs (if you have it).

7) You may remove ScrollEx Preferences.

8) Use ScrollEx!



You may install the helpBook into internal or on card when you need it. The icon does not show up in the Extras drawer.



%SYSTEM UPDATE INSTALLATION

1) Remove ScrollEx (archived icons will be removed but NOT lost)

2) Install a System Update following the ReadMe document

3) Install ScrollEx (archived icons will be recovered)



%Note about Extra buttons

Some applications define buttons at the same place of Extra buttons. To keep active the special added buttons, you need to install (or re-install) these application above ScrollEx. (moving the application to/from card twice do it)

%Changes from version 2.7

The display of ExtraButtons is available at any time by tapping on the lowest right corner of the screen (on the "t" of Assist). The available heap memory is displayed on the top-left of the ExtraButtons display.



%Bugs fix:

The change of a folder name works correctly.

The interruption of an ExtraButtons definition works.



%New feature:

Any application on card may be archived.

- Choose Archive/install from the Action Button menu, tap the package you want to archive.

- The icon of the application changes indicating it is archived. You may launch the application as another, it is automatically archieved again on quit.

- To install an archived application, do the same operation with an archived application.
