No More Keys v1.1 ==================== Overview -------- No More Keys is an application which replaces the QWERTY keyboard with Graffiti when the user double taps. The QWERTY keyboard is still available through the keyboard button. This package will not appear in the extras drawer, and makes an effort to be as invisible as possible. Changes from 1.0 ---------------- Being able to access the Newton alphanumeric keyboard from the keyboard button is the only change since 1.0. Installation ------------ To use this package, simply load it after Graffiti has already been loaded. If all of your packages are being kept on the same store, that will do it. On the other hand, if you are dividing all of your packages between internal and a card, Graffiti will need to be internal and this application on the card. Uninstallation -------------- If you decide that you miss the hunt and peck keyboard lifestyle, this package will have to be removed to reinstate the keyboard. Things won't break when... -------------------------- Considering that my bread and butter come from software quality assurance, if there is a bug in this application, the guys I work with will never let me forget it. Therefore, these are some of the things I made sure worked: If Graffiti is installed after No More Keys, the application won't work it's magic and after a reset, will tell the user of the situation. If Graffiti is removed after being patched into the keyboard, no problem. The No More Keys application will also be removed since it will need to be installed after Graffiti anyways. The keyboard will go back to normal. If No More Keys is removed after patching Graffiti into the keyboard, the origional keyboard will be replaced before the application is removed. If No More Keys and Graffiti are on a card which is removed there will be no problems, the origional keyboard will be replaced. If Graffiti is internal and No More Keys is on the card and the card is removed, the origional keyboard will be replaced. If Graffiti is on a card and No More Keys is on the internal and the card is removed, the origional keyboard will be replaced and No More Keys removed when it notices that Graffiti is no longer there. Backing up and restoring from a card. Things won't work when... ------------------------- When you backup and restore from the connection kit, there will be problems. This is because of the installation order requirement. What will happen is the device will reset, then No More Keys will tell you that it needs to be loaded after Graffiti. Since the restores are successful, you don't need to worry about this too much. I am looking into the fix.
