PocketQuicken to PocketMoney Translator

MAR Software (under contract from Catamount Software) is furnishing a Pocket Quicken* to Pocket Money* translator as a result of a large number of requests for a Pocket Quicken*data to Pocket Money data translator. 



The translator will not modify your existing Pocket Quicken data so you can safely translate the data to Pocket Money and try Pocket Money with your existing Pocket Quicken data. 





Requirements

Pocket Quicken version 1.2

Pocket Money version 2.0f8 or newer





Use

---



1. PocketQuicken should already be installed.



2. Install these packages into your Newton:

      PQtoPM.pkg,    - the data translator

      PM.pkg,    - Pocket Money 



3. Open PQtoPM.pkg.



4. Tap on "Send PQ data to PM" button. This will start the conversion process. If you have  a lot of data in Pocket Quicken this could take a while. When PQtoPM finishes processing proceed to step five.



5. Open Pocket Money.



6. If this is the first time you have opened PocketMoney then Pocket Money will start you out in the Account Prefs screen. You will need to fill in the account information from the accounts you transfered from Pocket Quicken. Close Account Prefs.



7. Tap on the i button and select Prefs.



8. Check the "Reconstruct popups during Recompute Balances." When checked, Pocket Money will add new categories to the category popup when you run the "Recompute Balances" utility.



9. Close the Prefs.



10. Tap on the envelope button and select "Recompute Balances." This will add up all of your account balances, and add new categories and payees to the popups. (You can go back into Prefs and uncheck the "Reconstruct popups during Recompute Balances" option.)



11. You should be all set to start using Pocket Money with your old Pocket Quicken data.
