Description ___________ passKeep is an application written especially for MessagePad users who have a difficult time keeping up with user id's/passwords and software registrations. Yes, there's one for that account at school (or two), several for those favorite webs sites, one for that secure ftp site, one for that old local BBS you still call, one for the VAX at work - wait, wait - I can't keep up! And look, there's a new upgrade for Adobe Illustrator! I need that, but wait - what's my serial number? You rumble through a dozen boxes looking for that manual, then just decide to call and beg. Promise them anything; a fax of your CD, a scan of your face! Well, no more - just store the application and serial number in passKeep and never worry about it again. Sure, there are other ways to store this information, but passKeep has a simple, consistent user interface that is quick and easy to use. passKeep makes retrieving this information less painful. And AgCal Systems and Sine of the Time feature the best customer service in the Newton software industry! passKeep is available for only $15. Upgrades are free indefinitely. You need passKeep! Features ________ passKeep lets you add all the items you wish up to the limit of available storage space on your Newton. You may selectively delete any item at any time, but you will not be allowed to delete the last item. These activities are accomplished through the 'Action Button'. Server Mode passKeep's Server Mode is used for storing all of those username/password combinations you need so often in this wired life you're leading. Software Package Mode passKeep's Software Package Mode is for storing all of your software information including those shareware unlock codes. The Mode Switch The small computer icon in the upper left corner of the screen is used for entering 'Server Mode'. The small checkmark icon in the upper left corner of the screen is used for entering 'Software Package Mode'. Overview for Server and Software Package Modes Whatever mode you're in, passKeep supports the built in system overview mode. Use the 'Button Bar Belly Button' to toggle in and out of the application overview. When in overview mode, the 'Button Bar' scroll arrows scroll through the stored items. Clear Field Buttons When the clear field buttons are set to on in the application preferences, small bullet buttons are available to the left of the text in the application. These buttons are available for rapidly clearing fields for subsequent input. WARNING: There is no Undo! Notes Use the notes section of the application to store data not currently supported in the field view. Application Preferences The application preferences of passKeep allow you to change the default font size, font family, turn on or off the clear field buttons, or set the application password.Settings are remembered when you quit the application so everything is the way you like it the next time your run passKeep. J Security Feature There is also a security feature within the preferences [click the 'i' button], select 'Prefs', and select 'Set Password'. On the MessagePad 120/130: First: Use NUMBERS ONLY! The application entry screen does not yet support alphabetic character entry! The application will not lock if you enter non-numeric characters. If you check the locking feature, the application will not lock until you have entered your password in the 'password' and 'verify' fields. Returning to the locking screen will show you the current status of the application (the check box will be checked if locked) To unlock the application, just uncheck the box by clicking on it. On the MessagePad 2000: First: Use NUMBERS ONLY! The application entry screen does not yet support alphabetic character entry! Enter your NUMERIC password on the 'New password' line and then again on the 'Confirm password' line. Then tap the 'Set' button. To unlock the application, enter this area and tap 'Set' without entering anything on the password lines. You will be prompted with a dialog box asking 'Don't require password?". Tap 'OK' and the application will be unlocked. When you run the application after it is locked, you must enter the password exactly! Please limit your password to standard NUMERIC characters. If you utilize the security information, please do not forget your password - you will NOT be able to gain entry to passKeep. Your information will not be lost, but you won't be able to get to it; contact support for help (see below).
