OneTap Record is an extension that installs a button on the status bar of the Notes application. Tapping on the button starts sound recording immediately. Holding down the button reveals a preferences popup for sound recording quality and sound input source. Requirements OneTap Record is only available for Newton devices with sound input. It has been tested on a MessagePad 2000. No testing on an eMate 300 has been done, but no foreseeable problems exist at this time. Installation Install OneTapRecord.pkg as you would with other Newton software, by downloading it to your device using the Newton Connection Utilities, Newton Backup Utility, Newton Package Installer, or other package installation utility. OneTap Record will install a button on the status bar of the Notes application. OneTap Record must be installed on the internal store. Use Tap on the OneTap Record button to start sound recording. Hold down on the button to reveal the preferences popup. Shareware OneTap Record is shareware. When unregistered, OneTap Record will work with no restrictions for 60 days or 500 uses. After that time, a reminder will appear each time it is used unregistered. Registration cost is US$10. Registration Once your payment is cleared, we will send you a validation code by email (or postal mail). Hold down on the OneTap Record button and tap on Register. Make sure the name is correct and enter the validation code (all lowercase letters). Tap register. OneTap Record is NewtonID aware and will use it if present. If you have chosen not to use NewtonID, OneTap Record will rely on Owner Card-based registration. However, it will never disable itself if you switch to a different Owner Card. It will give you a grace period to return to the original registered owner card. If you do not return to the original Owner Card within the grace period, OneTap Record will give you warnings.
