This app will create Notes on the Notepad any time you use the Newton's Intelligent Assistance "Call" function.  Simply use the Call function as usual and CallLogger will automagically  create a new Note for you on the Notepad.



CallLogger does not appear in the Extras drawer or anywhere else.  You'll only see the results of it's actions.  All CallLogger Notes are filed in the same folder as the item currently visible on your NotePad.  So if the current item there is filed in "Shareware Fees to Bill" then the next CallLogger Note will use that Folder, too.



CallLogger will also look for a folder named "Calls".  If you create a folder with this name, CallLogger will place the notes in that folder instead.



Yes, I know it'd be nice to configure it.  Sending in your Shareware fees can make it happen!



It's Install/Remove polite and will not leave anything behind in your Newton.  It does not create any soups.  You can put it on  your card, eject and reinsert the into a friend's Newton and CallLogger will work!  It won't alter the Newton since the app follows the card.

You can't turn CallLogger off and on.  If it's installed, to does it's thing.  If you don't want CallLogger to create Notes, then remove it.  It will not stay this way forever, I will add some sort of Preferences for it in the future.  Again, send in those fees!

Rearranged how CallLogger sends text to the NotePad.  A user suggestion requested having the Call <name> item appear as the first item on the Note.  This allows using te Overview in Notes to see what it was.  I agree and this version does not does it this way.  I removed the Date: text from the Note, it's in the divider bar; just tap on the i to see an item's date and time.  



CallLogger will now only create a Note if there's a name or phone number in the Call slip.  This avoids creating blank notes.

Changed internal use of memory to save just a few bytes more.

Added support for a Calls folder.  If you have a folder named "Calls" CallLogger will add the notes to that folder in the NotePad.

Please note that this demo version of CallLogger will expire 30 days after you install it.  This version will totally expire on 7/31/94 and will not let you install or use it after that date.

For those of you who've read my other product ReadMe files, this may seem a bit tame.  I've been a rather vocal critic of user support for shareware.  I certainly don't envision making a mint off of these products, but it's nice to see folks put their dollars behind my efforts.  If you like products like CallLogger and want to see others of it's kind, you need to support the authors who create them.  So, please, send your fees today!  If not to me, at least to another author.



This was a quick hack for my own personal use.  I've released it to the ShareWare system.  I retain all rights to it.  If you'd like to distribute it, you must get my e-mail permission first.



If you've got critcisms or suggestions about any of my products, I welcome feedback.  Bugs reports are also appreciated.  If you like it, but don't want to cough up a few bucks, at least send me a e-mail message saying you've seen it and like it.  I promise not to harass you too much!
