nDial version .7 ====================== Yet Another Newton hack from Bill Kearney. I'll be writing a better read me file soon. This app adds a louder and adjustable length touch-tone (DTMF) dialer to your Newton. It will evolve a bit more, but these are the first renditions. When you open nDial, enter a number to dial, set the length desired for the tones and tap the Dial button. It will create tones up to 4 seconds in length, but this is dependent on how much free heap space your Newton has at dialing time. Slide to the left for quick .25 second tones or to the right for up to 4 second tones. Commas and dashes are supported and will create 500 and 50 millisecond pauses. All ASCII text characters are mapped as they appear on a normal phone. The letters Q and Z are mapped to dial a 1. This is what the Newton's normal built-in dialer does. If you have some other text selected and you tap Dial, nDial will dial it. If you'd like to redial only a portion of the recently dialed number, just select that portion and tap Dial again. It will only dial the selected info. Anytime you dial to via the speaker using the Intelligent Assistant, nDial will intercept it. This is true for any other applications that call the GetRoot():Dial() function. Disclaimer ========== This product is currently in beta test. It's not known to have any bugs or defects that would impair the use of your Newton. However, it is possible something unforseen could go wrong. We cannot be held responsible for any loss of info or the usage of your Newton. Please back up your Newton before installing this package! Shareware ========= nDial is ShareWare, send $15 to the below address. If you use this a couple of times, like it and/or encourage a friend to use it, that's a fair statement of it's value, send the fee! Please, submit US funds or postal money orders only! This app is a time release demo. It will expire 30 days after you install it. If you actually use it for 30 days, that's a fair statement about it's value. I could use the cash, so send in the fee!
