PowerNames 2.16 Demo Demo Read Me Welcome to an exciting program for your Newton! PowerNames(tm) makes navigation between names lightning fast by allowing you to jump instantly to your frequently used names. It is no longer necessary to go hunting for a name. With this clever utility, you can simply tap on a name from a popup list and have it instantly displayed. Names can also be made "power" names and remain permanently in the list. PowerNames also allows you to quickly find names that are not in the popup list. Please take the time to step through the tutorial included with this demo version. Just print out the text file and follow it step by step. It will illustrate the "power" of PowerNames and allow you to try for yourself all of its key features. Note: This demo will work for 30 days from the time you first install PowerNames 2.X. If you have already installed a version, this demo will work until those 30 days have passed. INSTALLATION PowerNames is approximately 100K in size. Use your Newton Backup Utility (Windows or Mac) or Package Installer (Mac only) to install PowerNames onto your Newton. It is not necessary, but recommended, to install PowerNames onto your internal store. Once installed, PowerNames is automatically activated and will: * Add a button to the Notepad status bar (and/or the backdrop app if it supports auxiliary buttons). * Extends the features of the silk-screened Names button (2.0 operating system) * Includes an extended Names button that can be dragged into the button bar (2.1 operating system) * Extends the Name File in several ways. 1) Extends the A- Z tabs. 2) Extends the Show button in the Name File's status bar. 3) Adds a menu option to the Name File's action button (envelope button) allowing names to be made permanent (power names). 4) Monitors usage of names and keeps a list of recently used names. * Allow quick searching for a name with its useful Find feature. * Allow you to customize several aspects of the Name File. * Allow you to quickly select names from within any standard "name picker." NamesBtn.pkg - this is a button to be dragged into the button bar - For use with MP2000 & MP2100 users only! PowerNames Demo This Demo version of PowerNames is fully functional! There is one important differences between this demo version and the real version. This Demo version only allows you to use PowerNames for 30 days from the time you first install it. After those 30 days have passed, the features PowerNames adds will no longer be available. At any time, this demo version can be unlocked and made a full working version (see Unlocking PowerNames Demo Version outlined immediately below). Unlocking PowerNames Demo This Demo version of PowerNames can be unlocked with an access key allowing you to convert it to a full working version. If you have decided you would like to purchase PowerNames, go ahead and contact SilverWARE with your seed key to get your access key to unlock this demo version. To get your seed key, first go to PowerNames' main screen which is displayed when the PowerNames icon is tapped from within the Extras Drawer. Then select the Unlock menu option from the "i" button (also known as the info button). This will display a window which will show you your seed key and also allow you to enter your individual access key. Now e-mail us your seed key with payment information and we will in turn e-mail you your access key. Once you have received your access key, go ahead and enter it in the access key field by first tapping on the keyboard icon beside the access key field. This will display a numeric keypad. Then go ahead and enter your access key, close the numeric keypad and then tap the Unlock button. You will then get a conformation screen thanking you for your purchase. You only need to perform the unlocking procedure once. After you have unlocked the Demo version, you will then be able to download subsequent versions via our web site (http://www.silverware.com) or your preferred online service and have it be a automatically unlocked upon installation. Maintenance releases are always free. Major version releases might carry a modest upgrade charge in the future. PowerNames 1.x users should be aware that the access code for the 1.X versions will not work for PowerNames 2.X. The fee to upgrade from the 1.X version is $10 and can be done directly through SilverWARE. MoreInfo SilverWARE is also the creator of MoreInfo. The latest version of MoreInfo is 5 and requires Newton OS 2.0. PowerNames is designed to integrate with MoreInfo. From within MoreInfo's slips, you can choose from a popup list of frequently used names with whom to schedule. In addition, names with whom meetings, events and To Dos are scheduled using MoreInfo are added to PowerNames' list of recent names. These integration features are available in MoreInfo 5 or later. Those who also use MoreInfo will have access to several additional features within PowerNames' Find screen. They include. 1. The ability to create a New Card. 2. The ability to place a new call, schedule a new meeting or add a new To Do for a person instantly. GETTING STARTED Be sure to explore all of the features in PowerNames.
