I noticed when I started using the Newton Connection Kit¨ that the names of removed apps kept showing up during a sync. When I got into NewtonScript programming, I found that there were left- over soups from these apps that took up memory in the MessagePad¨. I decided to get rid of them. This is why I made Soup Away. Also, I had an instance where I queued something in the OutBox , a print job, then deleted the application before printing. Evidently there was some reference to a no-longer available soup and every time I opened the OutBox, I would get an error. There was no way now to remove this entry from the OutBox. Soup Away allowed me to remove the OutBox soup. I then reset the Newton, queued up a fax job, and this re-created the OutBox soup! Problem solved! Soup Away can be dangerous. It let's you do some things you maybe should not be able to do as did similar type utilities on the PC's when they first came out. Be careful, backup, and make use of this application. *Next release will contain the abillity to switch between stores ( internal and external storage ).
