Longer allows you to write and edit longer text notes than the notepad.  The note must be all text, and multiple styles are not allowed.  Longer will store information in its own soup or import or export from the Notepad.  In addition, the text of a paperback can be imported into Longer.

Longer 1.1 makes some minor changes:  the data area is wider; tapping new note creates a permanent item and some other fixes.
