NChess: NChess is designed to be a chess player's assistant. With NChess, you can keep track of multiple games and multiple players. You can play using one Newton (handing it back and forth), or you can play with two Newtons via infrared, email, printing, or faxing. With NChess, you can play against any Newton owners anywhere in the world so long as they have access to NewtonMail. A later version of NChess will allow you to send and receive text versions of a game. This makes it possible to play through the internet with anyone. Installation Install NChess as you would any other Newton package. You can use the Newton Connection Kit or the Newton Package Installer. Using NChess Please read the Beta Docs included with NChess for information on how to use this version of NChess. NChess is simple to use, but it is a good idea to browse through the docs before you get started. ShareWare NChess is Shareware. You may freely distribute NChess so long as the documentation is included. NChess may be included on CD-ROM or other media so long as it is clearly understood that purchasing the media does not mean that NChess has been paid for. You may use NChess for a 15 day trial period. After that, if you choose to keep NChess, please send $15 in U.S. funds to the address below. You can also register NChess on CompuServe (GO SWREG). The SWREG number for NChess is 2820. I have decided not to put any copy protection on NChess. In the past I have distributed software as "CrippleWare". That's where part of the software doesn't work until you register it and receive a special unlocking code. NChess is my big test of the ShareWare concept. NChess is a good program, well worth the price. If you decide to keep it, please send in the fee. Feedback If you find a bug or have a suggestion for NChess, please send me a note (preferably email). Please include your Name, Address, the version of NChess, the Newton model you have, and a clear description of the problem/suggestion. Don't think that "someone else" will send me the suggestion or bug that you've found. Feedback is a rare and wonderful thing, so please don't hesitate to send it. NChess Robert Duran Jr. 101 S.
