What Is WordADay ---------------- WordADay is a Newton package that lets you build your vocabulary and internal dictionary one word a day. It does so by obtaining words from an Internet server via NewtonMail (eWorld) or AmericaOnline (using HardyMacia's Aloha package). Once words are retrieved, they can be stored internally in the WordADay database (soup), or added to the recognition dictionary of the Newton. Each word comes complete with a definition and occassionally a quote/comment from the A.Word.A.Day internet server. Words can be printed, faxed, mailed, or even beamed to another Newton running WordADay. WordADay supports scrolling using the up/down arrows of the Newton, as well as supporting the Find function, so you can look words up that way if you choose. WordADay comes with complete online-help. Be sure to read it to find out how to the Internet word server (free) so you can start getting words to add to your dictionary. Enclosed in this archive is a file called WADS which is a text document suitable for Slurpee-ing to your Newton. It provides a "starter-set" of words so that you can evaluate the program without having to actually have email capability. You should read the Slurpee instructions on how to use Slurpee with the WADS file. The WADS file is properly pre-formatted so you merely have to enable Slurpee and choose the WADS file from your terminal emulator. What Is Slurpee --------------- Slurpee is program developed by Steve Weyer which allows you to move data in and out of your Newton. Slurpee is not included in this archive, but can be obtained via all major online sources as well as Steve Weyer's WWW site http://www.netaxs.com/~weyer. WordADay is Shareware --------------------- If you like WordADay, please register it. It is $20. If you register and have an idea of how I can improve the program, feel free to let me know, and I'll see about incorporating your suggestions/fixes. Thank you, Serg Koren
