Welcome to CIS Retriever 1.12 Demo.  This software is a fully functional version of the latest CIS Retriever with the following exceptions.  CIS Retriever Version 1.12 is a sophisticated product with many options.  It is recommended that you download the version 1.1 release notes and the User Manual before attempting to use this demo software.

1. Mail-The demo version will allow you to see a list of your mail but will not allow you to read mail messages. It will allow you to create outgoing mail messages but not allow you to post them.  It will not allow a fully automated mail exchange operation because this would involve sending and receiving mail.

2. News and Stock Quotes-The demo version will allow you to view stock quotes and news items of all kinds but not keep any items on the Newton.

3. Forum-The demo version will allow you to read some forum messages.  If you are reading messages in a subject thread, it will allow you to read the first message only.  It will not allow you to see a list of all new messages that have been posted to the forum since the last time you visited.  It will allow you to see new messages posted to you or search for messages from a person, to a person or on a particular subject. The demo version will allow you to create forum reply messages or outgoing forum messages either on-line or off-line but will not allow you to post them to CompuServe.  The demo version will allow you to keep up to three messages in each forum at any one time.  If you want to keep a newer forum message, simply delete one or more older messages to bring the total number of kept messages in that forum under three.  The demo version will double beep if you attempt to keep more than three messages in one forum.

4. Kept Messages-The demo version allows you to perform most operations on kept messages-read them, delete them, move them to and from memory cards, and create reply messages to forum messages.  It will not allow you to forward messages dowloaded from CompuServe nor file them as a Newton note.  Any messages that you create can be forwarded or filed, however.

To install to the complete version of CIS Retriever first remove the demo software package and then download the complete version package using an installer.  All your preferences, login profiles and any kept messages will be preserved.
