Derived this driver from the ModemSetup-2 Sample-Code which comes with the Newton Developer CD.

-> Pretec 33.6 & CL-MD34(56)xx (CirrusLogic) chipset compatible (hopefully!) modem driver for the Newton OS 2.x (from http://www.pretec.com/)!

I use this all driver all the time, it works quite well for me !
I did include proper AT-codes for the line-noise retarining up/down to work, hadn't caused any hickups AFAIK !

Please, use on NOS 2.x systems only !
Worked with Fax/Data connects, you may use the MHz Cruise Card 28.8 & TDK2814 settings instead if you wish !
Card is CL-MD34(56)xx (CirrusLogic) chipset compatible. 
FaxClass1 Only !

P.S.: I was unable so far to establish a fax-poll call with my MP 2100 and this modem, no matter what settings I chose, Newton wouldn't want to collect :(!
I believe this a bug in NewtonOS !
