Notion 2.0 Release Notes 5/28/98 ========================== Notion 2.0 is Copyright 1994-95 Eidetic, Inc., Copyright 1995-98 PelicanWare, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Installation Note ================= If Notion is installed on a memory card and the notepad button is active, you will get a warning when you remove the memory card. Therefore, if you plan to use the notepad button, we recommend that you install Notion in internal memory. Compatibility ============= Notion 2.0 should be able to read lists created with any previous version of Notion. It should also be able to exchange lists via beaming or e-mail with prior versions of Notion. However, Notion 2.0 lists which contain calculated fields will cause errors if viewed with previous versions of Notion. Notion 2.0 has been tested on Apple MessagePad 120, 130, 2000, 2100, and eMate 300 models. It is *not* compatible with Newton 1.x. Notion 2.0 uses the same templates as Notion 1.5, but cannot use templates from versions of Notion prior to 1.5. Known Bugs and Discrepancies ============================ 1. Printing and Faxing can use a great deal of heap memory. We recommend that you print only the specific data you need, to minimize the amount of heap memory required. Freezing inactive packages will also help this situation. This problem is most noticeable on MessagePad 120 and 2000 devices-- on MessagePad 130 and 2100 devices, it isn't much of a problem. 2. Notion 2.0 allows you to have up to 100 active lists. On MessagePad 120 and 2000 devices, you can run into memory problems before you hit the 100-list limit. 3. The online help for List Designer states that only currency or number fields may be totalled. This is not quite correct-- calculated fields may also be totalled. 4. On MessagePad 120 devices, you can encounter out-of-memory situations while using Notion. Resetting the MessagePad will usually cure the problem.
