What is OneTap TWT?
--------------------
OneTap TWT for the Newton is a small button for the Notes application and backdrop application that allows quick selection of all the text in a note. OneTap TWT was formerly named TheWholeText.

Requirements
------------
OneTap TWT is available for Newton OS 2.0 and 2.1. It has been tested on a MessagePad 2000, eMate 300, and MessagePad 130. No testing on a MessagePad 120 but no foreseeable problems exist at this time.

Installation
------------
Install OneTapTWT.pkg as you would with other Newton software, by downloading it to your device using the Newton Connection Utilities, Newton Backup Utility, Newton Package Installer, or other package installation utility. OneTap TWT will install a button onto the status bar of the backdrop application and Notes application.

Note: Some backdrop applications do not allow addition of status bar buttons.

OneTap TWT will use less heap if installed on the internal store.

Use
---
Tap in the text area from which you want to select text. This makes it the active text area.

Tap on the OneTap TWT button. All the text in the text area will be selected.

Notes:

1) Disjointed text (text on different areas of the screen) will not retain their structure if pasted into another block of text. The text will become one large text block. In order to tell if you are pasting into a text block, you will see an insertion cursor (a vertical line).

2) Outline or Checklist text will not retain its structure.

3) If there is text hidden because an Outline or Checklist hierarchy is closed, OneTap TWT will not select it.

4) If there are graphics elements in the same note, OneTap TWT will not select them.

5) Mnemonic for OneTap TWT: It selects the text, the whole text, and nothing but the text.

Known Bug
---------
OneTap TWT may not correctly install after switching backdrop applications if the switch involves the Notes application. Resetting your Newton device will correct the installation. Newton OS doesn't change the "blessedApp" indicator at exactly the same time it changes it, so OneTap TWT detects a different backdrop application.
