Thank you for purchasing Graffiti 2.0, the fastest, most accurate 
way to enter text into your Newton.  This Read Me file contains

      Using Newton Package Installer to Install Graffiti 2.0

Newton Package Installer (NPI) version 1.01 is included on the
Graffiti 2.0 installation disk for your convenience.  To 
install Graffiti or any of its components:

On Your Macintosh

  1.	Connect the cable from your computer to the communications
     port of your Newton.
  2.	Insert the Graffiti 2.0 disk in the appropriate drive.
  3. Run the Newton Package Installer on the Graffiti 2.0 disk
     by double-clicking on it.
  4. Select whether you are connecting via AppleTalk, Modem Port,
     or Printer Port.
  5.	Select Install Package from the File menu.
  6. Choose the Graffiti.pkg file.

On Your MessagePad
  1. Remove Graffiti 1.0 and any patches associated with Graffiti.
  2. Run the Connection application from the Extras drawer.
  3. Select the "Connect via" setting that matches your setup:
     Serial, Modem, or AppleTalk.
  4. Tap Connect to begin the installation. 

When the installation is complete you should see the Graffiti
package in your Extras drawer.  If you had trouble connecting,
check to make sure your cable is attached properly and to the
right port.  Also, make sure your software settings (Modem
Port versus Printer Port) match the hardware settings. 

You may optionally install ShortCuts.pkg, Help.pkg and Tutorial.pkg
by repeating steps 5 and 6 on your Macintosh and 2, 3 and 4 on your
MessagePad.

              Common Problems Using Graffiti 2.0

Window Floats On Top of Graffiti
--------------------------------

Problem
    The Graffiti Window is obscured by another window which floats
    over Graffiti.  This appears to make it impossible to enter
    text into the application with Graffiti.  This problem is known 
    to happen in several applications that support floating windows.

Solution  
    Double-tap in a text field on the floating application and
    Graffiti should appear in front of the application.  


Removing a Storage Card While Graffiti Is Running
-------------------------------------------------

Problem
    If the main Graffiti application is running from a storage
    card, removing the storage card will result in unpredictable
    behavior.  You may have to reset your Newton to recover.

Solution
    If you run Graffiti from the storage card, always close it
    before removing the storage card.
