SCRAWL SOFTWARE RELEASES YAZI 1.01: Play Text Adventures on
Your Newton!



Scrawl Software is pleased to announce the availability of
YAZI 1.01, now updated for Newton 2.1, and taking full
advantage of the hardware keyboard and other 2.1
enhancements.

YAZI is a "text adventure engine" which takes "datafiles" as
input and allows you to play them on the Newton.  Strictly
speaking, YAZI doesn't do anything on it's own; it requires
a games datafile to run.  The datafile contains all of the
information about specific games.

With YAZI installed on your Newton, you can play from dozens
of games from the early 80's, including those listed below:

Ballyhoo, Cutthroat, Deadline, Enchanter, Hitchhiker's Guide
to the Galaxy, Leather Goddess of Phoebes, Lurking Horror,
MiniZork I, Moonmist, Planetfall , Seastalker, Sorcerer,
Spellbreaker, Starcross, Wishbringer, Zork I, II and III

YAZI requires a Newton Messagepad.  For reasonable
playability, OS 2.X is recommended.  For flat out bliss, a
MP2000 is recommended.

Also, note that a keyboard is NOT required for YAZI.  In
fact, the authors never use one!  Between all of the
interface elements that allow fast input (configurable
popup, tap-on-word, shortcut keys), it only gets in our way.
