Asset Managerª This is the easiest, most comprehensive tool for identifying and tracking assets, contents of a residence or light commercial facility. You can create a Census of Assets report for scheduled insurance before a loss or damage, and for tax purposes. Read and enter barcoded information. Record acquisitions, costs, appraised values, depreciated values & current market values. Know the cost of replacement, track repair & improvement history. Maintain a complete and current record of a clientÕs or a companyÕs assets. This solution can also be modified to meet your requirements and can work with Claims Cost Analyzer and with Cost Analyzer. Unfiled Items This screen is both your general repository of assets inventoried and also your main item navigation buttons and pickers. It really is easy. * A ÒuÓ shape indicates that there are choices for you to select from. Tap and those choices will be displayed. Sort by ÒItemÓ, by ÒAcquisition DateÓ (e.g. date of purchase), by ÒLocationÓ (e.g. where the item is actually located), by ÒCategoryÓ (by common groupings e.g. Antiques or by detailed categories that youÕve determined e.g. Georgian Period Antiques) or by ÒSourceÓ (how or from where an item was acquired). tap ÒFindÓ which opens to the ÒFind ItemÓ dialogue: use the ÒuSearch Key:Ó to find by ÒItemÓ enter an item name or part of a name and tap ÒFindÓ the ÒDetailÓ information of the found item will appear. If there are more that one item that meet the search criteria, you will see a list of those found. Highlight your selection and the ÒDetailÓ will appear. ÒCostÓ and ÒAppraised ValueÓ are truly unique. Select either of these and define the value range as ÒLess ThanÓ, "More ThanÓ or ÒAroundÓ to help in your search. ÒAroundÓ is a value that is + or - 10% of the value that you enter. Enter a value, tap find. ÒBar CodeÓ Scan to identify the item and then tap ÒFindÓ tap ÒuCndtnÓ (Condition) here you need to have first selected an item or items appearing on your ÒAsset Manager- MainÓ screen by checking the box to the left of each inventoried item. Now tap ÒCndtnÓ and you can add condition content to any or all items ÒLostÓ, ÒStolen", ÒDamagedÓ, ÒSoldÓ, ÒTradedÓ, ÒGiftedÓ, ÒTossedÓ, ÒRecoveredÓ or ÒRentedÓ. Follow the prompts in the ÒItem ConditionÓ dialogues and tap ÒAddÓ to include the conditional information to an item(s). * Suggestion - create separate folders to contain some conditional items e.g. sold items or lost items tap ÒSummaryÓ to open the ÒTotals SummaryÓ dialogue - you can then select ÒFolderÓ to display the items in a folder or all items in your inventory. The ÒTotals SummaryÓ dialogue displays the ÒTotal Number of Items", ÒTotal Purchase CostÓ value (the amount that you paid) and the ÒTotal Current ValueÓ (represents the amount paid and with those items that have been appraised. Here the appraised value replaces the paid value) The next three buttons are standard Newton. File Icon - you an create a New Folder, edit a Folder name or if you have selected an item(s) you can move it to another folder. Action button - Select an item or items manually or with ÒuSelectÓ that sits above the ÒiÓ and tap this Action button to print or fax your Asset Manager Report. This action button also allows you to duplicate or delete items from you inventory list. ÒXÓ tap this to close a window or close an application. *Remember ÒXÓ closes a window but does not SAVE. Select ÒSaveÓ when you want to save. Asset Manager - Main This is an item by item list displaying ÒITEMÓ (item name), ÒACQDATEÓ (acquisition date), ÒSOURCEÓ (where you got the item), ÒLOCÓ (location - where the item is) and ÒCATÓ (category - how the item is grouped e.g. Jewelry). To view the detail of an item just tap the content and the ÒDetailÓ will open. Note the open box to the left of each item. Check these boxes before selecting an action such as File a folder, Print, or Fax a report, Duplicate or Delete an item. Use the up and down arrows (right side mid screen) to scroll through your inventoried items. Black arrows mean that you can scroll in that direction to see more items in your list. The number displayed in the lower right corner of this screen represents the total number of items contained in the folder currently displayed. *Note the black field at the top of this screen it displays your name (owner of the Newton) and address, date and time. *Remember whenever you see a ÒuÓ tap it and it will open to more choices that can be selected. Asset Manager - New Item This is where you enter all of the information needed to create your inventory. Each entry area is either a fill in, where you can handwrite the requested content, or a picker (ÒuÓ) with pre-selected choices. In some of the pickers (ÒuÓ) by selecting ÒOtherÓ you can even add the designators that work best for you. Example - in location we offer generic names of rooms in a house - you can add more suitable names, remove our suggestions or even rename them. Select ÒOther . . .Ó and the ÒOther Item Ò dialogue window opens. Either select from the list and rename the selected item in ÒLocNameÓ tap the ÒOperationÓ button and make a choice to ÓAddÓ your new entry, ÒRemoveÓ the selected location or ÒReplaceÓ the selected location with your new entry. After which close the dialogue ÒXÓ to continue.
