Things you should know aboutÉ Ľ Until the Internal Revenue Service finalizes certain forms, some assumptions are made concerning the 1997 tax year, including no change in the limits of the Alternative Minimum Tax and the income limitations for deductions. This version gives you a headstart on your tax planning. As the IRS releases definitive information, we will update as necessary for the 1997 year. Ľ The Year button contains two 1997 year items/calculations: "1997 CG 20%" (Capital Gains at 20%) and "1997 CG 28%" (Capital Gains at 28%). If you ARE NOT affected by Capital Gains during 1997, it does not matter which year you choose to figure your 1997 taxes, everything else is identical. If you ARE affected by Capital Gains, select the year and percentage that will apply to you. If you are uncertain which applies to you, contact your tax advisor for help in determining the tax bracket. How do you register? The first time you launch TaxPro'97 a registration window will open. Once you have entered a valid serial number, an "Accept" button will appear. You may tap out the serial number with a keyboard. Double-tap the input field to bring up a keyboard. All serial number letters must be in upper case. Your serial number is found on the outside of your box, on the registration card, and on the installation card. If you downloaded this software from our web site and registered by telephone, fax, or email, you will also be sent a paid invoice which has your serial number printed on it.
