StreetFinder 1.01 October 10, 1997 by Alan Simon (ads5@columbia.edu) Description ----------- StreetFinder is a small (6K when installed) package which implements the Manhattan Address Locator algorithm found in the NYNEX Yellow Pages. Given an avenue name and a building number in Manhattan, StreetFinder will tell you the nearest cross-street. For example: say you were going to 171 Fort Washington Avenue in Manhattan, and wanted to know the cross street. If you select "Fort Washington Ave" from the pop-up list, and then write in "171" in the "Address" line, StreetFinder will tell you the nearest cross-street is 166th Street. It also does a similar thing for addresses on side-streets: it can tell you (roughly) the nearest avenue. You supply the area of Manhattan the address is in (East Side, West Side, etc.) and the building number. Bug reports, comments, or suggestions would be appreciated. Requirements ------------ This package was written and tested on a MP2000. It only works with version 2.0 of the Newton operating system. It has not been tested on other Newtons.
