Newton Developer Training has expanded to offer you new options. In addition to Newton Essentials, we are offering Newton Communications and web-based training - and we're taking our courses on the road. Newton Programming: Essentials 2.0

Learn how to develop applications for Newton devices using the state-of-the-art development environment, Newton Toolkit for MacOS or Windows 95, in combination with a very powerful, small, robust, object-oriented language, Newtonscript. The use of Newton Toolkit lets you interactively develop your applications without having to execute sequential edit, compile and link cycles. In addition, human interface guidelines for developing on PDAs are discussed.

Newton Programming: Communications

Learn the fundamentals of Newton Communications. Using a self-paced mentored approach, we cover information for Newton programmers who want to add communications code to their applications. Students will have access to code, articles, references and labs for use as they desire. A qualified instructor is available to work one-on-one with anyone having specific questions or problems. In addition, a module on the Newton Internet Enabler will be presented.

Prerequisites: Experience in developing a complete application in a object-oriented programming language and basic familiarity with the use of a Newton MessagePad. Note: Non-programmers are not encouraged to attend these courses.

Newton Programming Self-Paced Training

Our two new online training offerings provide developers with convenient and inexpensive access to Newton Developer training. Those new to Newton development will find Programming for the Newton to be a useful tutorial on Newton Toolkit, NewtonScript, debugging, and general Newton programming techniques. For experienced programmers, check out Newton Programming: Communications 2.0 for an in-depth study of communications programming using Endpoints and Desktop Integration Libraries.
