About Text Box Shapes

The new text box shape, created by *MakeTextBox, provide support for multi-line text shapes. Single line text shapes have been available since the original version of the Newton OS. With the new text box shapes you specify a bounding box and a string, and the system wraps the text at word boundaries, clipping the text if it spills out of the bounding box. An example of a text box shape is shown in Figure 6-7 on page 6-18.
