This 'QuickLook' test suite is intended to give an indication of Newton 2.0 OS compatibility for a 1.x application. These tests take a couple of hours to execute and requires the following equipment: - 1.x Newton - 2.0 Newton - RAM storage card - Fax modem - Serial printer - Network printer - eWorld or NewtonMail account For a more complete list of compatibility test cases, refer to the 2.0 Compatibility Test Plan. Note that this 'QuickLook' list of test cases is primarily meant to give a quick indication of any major compatibility problems. Please run through the complete set of test cases in the test plan before declaring your application 2.0 compatible. Beam app data from 2.x to 1.x. Miscellaneous- Does app allow user to delete it's soup entirely? Select the ink recognizer. Write. Verify that Calendar's alarm function works while app is up. Delete application. Does any part stay behind? (icons? menus? etc.) "If multiple apps are bundled together, open all at the same time, check to see that the apps together aren't using too much frames heap." "If the app adds anything to the routing slip, verify that slip works correctly." Verify that routing slip is updated correctly when another app adds something to it. "If the app adds anything to the Preferences, verify that the added Preferences work correctly." "If the app adds anything to Assist, How Do I, verify that the addition works correctly" "If the app uses the help engine, verify that help behaves correctly." "If the app has an alternate way of opening (e.g. adds an icon to the icon bar), verify that it launches successfully." Regression Tests- File application on card. File application internally. Install with different backdrop. (Names, Dates, Extras) Beam application. (All parts of application) Launch application then rotate. Make application the backdrop then rotate.
