QuoteMaker Pro Preferences Overview

Master Default Margin
If an item, or an item's category, has no margin assigned to it, then the Master Default Margin is what is used to compute the item's sell price (See the Chapter on QuoteMaker's built-in Margin Processor for more info)

Cost Data Security Mode
In "Normal" mode QuoteMaker is fully functional. In "Protected" mode the user is unable to view or edit cost and margin information. This is useful for interactively working with a client. Do not, however, leave the client alone with your newton as they could easily defeat this feature.

Display Line Item Prices
Turning this option off only shows the totals for categories but not the prices for line items. This is also useful for working with clients

Default New Item Margin
If this is set to "None", than any new items added to a product database will be assigned an empty margin. This will mean that their sell price will be based on the category and/or master default margin that they are assigned to. By seting this to "List", then sell price of any new items added to a price database will be set to the list or retail price.

Sort Databases By
In the product search screen, the databases can be set to display in order of creation or alphabetically depending on this setting.

Always Add to Internal Store
This is a standard Newton feature that tells the Newton to only store Quotes that you create on the Newton's internal memory. It has no effect on the behavior of price databases, only the Quotes you create using QuoteMaker

Security Code
When using QuoteMaker's automated price updating feature via email, the security code prevents unauthorized users from trying to tamper with your data by sending unauthorized data. If the security code in the price file update does not match the one entered in your preferences, the price update will be rejected.

Auto Delivery Status
If this is enabled, then every night at 1 AM in the morning QuoteMaker will take any Quotes flagged for auto-delivery and post them in the desired format for delivery by the Newton 2000's EnRoute EMAIL client. Currently, this is the only email client supported by QuoteMaker. By setting EnRoute to auto-connect to the internet sometime after 1 AM, you can achive automated submission of your quotes to wherever you like.
