Protektor
will allow you to password protect applications on your Newton, preventing unwanted access
to your data. Anytime a password proected application is opened, a window will first
appear, asking for the password. If the correct password is entered, the window will close
and the application will open. If not, the application will remain closed. NOTE: You
should probably protect Protektor right after installing, to prevent someone from
assigning passwords to your applications. When entering a password, you can choose between
the typewriter keyboard and the numeric keyboard by tapping the "A/1" button to
the right of the password line. 30 day shareware. Credit: Stand Alone Software.

wrote for his own personal use, now offered to the Newton Community as freeware. Backlight
toggles the MP's backlight. PowerOff turns the MP off. PowerOff & Lock turns the MP
off and causes the "Newton Login Screen" to appear when it's next turned on.

Secret offers fast and true DES encryption for
Newton Notes. As long as you never forget your encryption password, you'll love this app.
After installing you will find a little "lock" button in your Notes
options bar. In addition the action picker will be extended by 'Protect' and 'Unprotect'.
These are present only if the selected note is unlocked. The lock in the button line
shows the state of the notes application. If it is locked, the notes marked with 'Protect'
are not available. To open the Note, simply tap on the lock button and enter your
password. This is a 30 day demo. Secret may also perform OwnerInfo encryption. Credit:
