Backdrop is a backdrop application for Newton devices with OS 2.1 (which means a MP2000,
MP2100, or eMate 300). Advantages? It's small (15K), it's fast, it takes up little heap,
and it's free. This backdrop program includes many features and options including
Anniversary and Birthday warnings and a great 10061 error work-around! The latest version
includes more options and some fixes. See included readme for usage instructions.

VoiceNotes 1.1 is the unique tool to turn a
MP2x00 into a full-featured digital dictating machine. Recordings can be compressed up to
1K/sec, which is 3.5MB for a 1 hour recording. This version includes ALL of the features
of the registered version, and you're limited only by length of recording. VoiceNotes
helps users take advantage of the digital recording features of the Newton, including on
the fly power switch activated recording and several levels of sound recording options.
VoiceNotes also has a handy Search feature so you can find your VoiceNotes by date, title,
attached memo or folder. An updated pdf manual

Newt'sPaper VisualNewt's NIE compliant NNTP news
reader. The new Newt'sPaper has been completely rewritten and now includes support for
threading options and more efficient news download, reading and options. MP2x00
users will find reliable compatibility with MacinTalk. This version is limited to selected

Newt'sWeather allows Newton users to access
weather information by talking to Internet weather servers via NIE. When used in
conjunction with Newt's Cape, users may view graphical weather maps. This shareware
is in beta stage and is limited to viewing Philadelphia's weather only. Registered
software is not limited. The latest version includes many new features and new fixes,
and a previous update improved MacinTalk compatibility and added minor fixes.

TimeTrax offers an expanded
overview, and more flexible appointment generation along with improved interface -- more
information, more quickly. Users may associate event entries with a symbol denoting the
type of event, whether birthday, meeting or holiday. Instead of short titles, users may
enter multiple lines of description for an event, without having to link to Notepad to
display expanded information. A German version is also available from the developer. This
version includes many new features and fixes! If you've installed previous versions
of TimeTrax, this new version gives you another 30 days to evaluate the product.
Before you install the latest version of TimeTrax, the developers request that you
make a backup of your Newton data, remove the current version of TimeTrax from your Newton
and be sure to have 200k of free memory upon installation. If TimeTrax is the

After installing this little application, you can
change some undocumented options - like freeze - on Newton 2.x systems. The latest
update includes Backlight at Power On and more flexible battery low warnings. A full
features list includes the ability to: change the amount of the subsequently correctable
words, set the number of clipboards to more than one, activate Freezing to save heap
space, set Undo-Redo default instead of Undo-Undo, close Extras always after opening.
