Sound Icons Last Update: 02/18/98

Sounds for the Newton OS. Add high quality sounds clips to your Newton device. Use sounds in System Prefs and other applications. Allows tapping on icon to play the sound.  Presents a popup menu if sound icon contains multiple sounds.- Automatically files into "Sounds" folder.  Can be filed, frozen, and deleted like other icons. Requires Newton OS 2.0 and 2.1. This has been tested on a MessagePad 2000 and MessagePad 130. No testing on a MessagePad 120 or eMate 300 has been done, but no foreseeable problems exist at this time. Freeware Credit: deep focus designs.

SoundPak 1.1 Last Update: 02/17/98

SoundPak adds a number of beep sounds that can easily be accessed by any program that uses the SoundPak API.  SoundPak and SoundPak2 can be used with Atomic Software's AlarmPak software!  Warning: If you have SoundPak 1.0 installed, remove it before you install SoundPak 1.1 or SoundPak2 1.1  Programmers should visit Atomic Software for information on how to add SoundPak functionality to their programs.  Credit: Atomic Software.

Sysbeep Last Update: 03/02/97

SysBeep is a small program to give you a different beep sound. Two packages are included. One says "Uh Oh", the other, "What the Hell ?". You may install only one package at a time. Just run it once after installing (or reseting) to activate the new sound. It overrides the normal System Beep routine.   Now, when you get an alert, you will hear "Uh Oh" or "What the Hell ?", instead of the alarm sound that you selected in the Preferences Section. To cancel this new beep sound, you need to remove the package or reset your machine. If you install it in internal memory (it's about 12k), it won't holler at you when you remove a card. The author intends this app for NOS 1.x but we tested it on 2.x systems and it works great! Credit: DMP Systems.
